We suggest for footstraps 6 to 7mm thick, you should use M7 x 28mm screws like these with an M6 x 18 Stainless Steel washer:

If you want to use a good anti-twist system like this, we suggest 32mm length may be best as long at the thickness of the strap and anti-twist plates exceed 11mm. you might want to open up the hole in the top plastic washer to 7mm, but the screw will easily cut through and the head will settle into into the recess without any modification. With this system, you will not require the 18mm stainless washer.
