Board size: 5'10"
Master shaper Tony Logosz blends his knowledge of surf & light wind to deliver a board aimed towards a light wind kite enthusiast who also wants a tool to catch anything in its path. The Knee Swacker is our quad fin light wind kite surf dominator.
Made with WVS Bamboo construction, the Knee Swacker does not sacrifice weight for durability or lively, fast acting feel. It has it all! The quad fin arrangement make the Knee Swacker an exceptionally smooth in turns and easy to negotiate in swell. The custom wide Screw Driver head tail design and full outline shape allows excellent drive and planning ability even for bigger riders. The NEW DFS compatible fin box provides maximum durability, especially around reefs and unexpected shoreline. It’s a great travel option when you know you have to have your bases covered in case of marginal wind conditions or need to paddle in to save a session.

Used this board for 2 sessions now (total of about 3 hours) in light wind & flat to small chop. Kites 12 Rally & 17 Turbine.
Slingshot make this as their light wind surfboard. It has lots of volume, lowish rocker & plenty of planing area, so it gets you going early. The fins are a FCS style quad setup & are raked back for carving turns. There is a lot of fin area compared to a standard kite surfboard, but the knee swacker is 57cm (22 1/2") wide, so big fins help keep it tracking through carves when your feet are away from the rail. Bottom shape looks like a shallow V running through to a double concave between the fins.
First session was with straps. I'm not a fan of straps on surfboards, but I do use then on the Airush Sector. These Slingshot straps let the board down tbh. They are very stiff & hard. The second thing I noticed was that the knee swacker is not a Sector 60. Ride it flat like a Sector & it's not happy. The fins don't have enough area to give it lift & make it go. You have to use some more rail & you drop some light wind efficiency for that.
Take the straps off & free up your feet & its MUCH better. In light wind you can gain a lot of efficiency by stepping around & getting the trim just right. It really opens up the usability of this board when the wind isn't blowing hard. This board carves nicely & feels like it picks up on tiny swells. Swapping feet in the gybe is easy as the board wide & stable.
For ultimate light wind blasting about, you're better on the Airush Sector 60. If you want a fun board that carves & feels at home on a wave the Knee Swacker is well worth a demo.
Slingshot say this paddle surfs ok too & I can't see why it wouldn't...
